Carlisle Bull Sales - May 2004

The sole entry from the Rumsden Herd at the Carlisle Spring Sale was Rumsden Ullapool. A Jan 2003 born son of Allanfauld Vagabond, Ullapool was 6th in the same class as the Champion, and went on to sell well above the average, at 4,500gns. Ullapool was the first calf of an ET heifer, Rumsden Ritz ET. Ritz is a daughter of Hampton Ballarat (whose bulls have made up to 8,500gns) and Andrews Miracle, a previous stock bull here at Rumsden. Miracle daughters have great maternal traits. They all have plenty of milk, and are very easy to handle, and most will cross suckle. One Miracle daughter that lost its calf in October 2004 has run with the herd and continued to milk well all winter, and had loads of milk still when weaned from the cows and calves group in May 2004! Ullapool was the first bull from a Miracle cow to be sold. Look out for Rumsden Upstanding (Derryharney Outstanding) and Rumsden Udimore (Doonally New), both August 2003 born sons of Miracle cows.
