New Arrivals at Rumsden November 2006

We had a busy day on Tuesday 31st October 2006. Not only did we welcome home Rumsden Mirage from the flushing centre, in calf to Doonally New due in January, but along with her came 7 BBx Recips carrying a selection of embryos. These include 4 by Killadeas Jack and 2 by Doonally Olmeto.

However, perhaps more excitingly, a first for Rumsden was the arrival of two imported Charolais heifer calves from France. Bred by Jean Louis Riotte, who works closely with Esmor Evans of the Maerdy Herd in Wales, these represent some interesting new bloodlines. We selected them as the pick of his heifer calves from his 200 cow herd near Dijon, having seen both sires and dams, and many other relations.

Balalaika was born 27.12.05 and is by Maerdy Padirac

Badiane was born 27.1.06 and is by Victorieux

The pictures were taken on 4th November, just a couple of days after they arrived.
