Five Rumsden Charolais sold to Anglia Breeders - first Taz daughter sells privately for £5000.

Bulls and heifers bred at Rumsden have proved popular so far in 2007. Two bulls were sold at Perth in February, one to the Thornham pedigree herd, and our final 2005 born bull left the farm on Easter Monday to Arthur Reynolds of Hawkhurst. However, it is Anglia based breeders who have been busiest at Rumsden this spring. In January Roger Harper of Weybread Charolais, Norfolk, purchased 6 month old bull calf Rumsden Bintang as a new herd sire for his pedigree herd. And in April Mike and Jenny Rix paid us a visit and carefully selected four two year old heifers for their Wissington Herd. Probably the best of the four was Rumsden Aussie, our first daughter of Burnside Taz. She had been Breed and Female Interbreed Champion at the South of England Show in 2006 and was entered up for the shows in 2007, but the offer of £5000 was too tempting. She will be joined on her journey by Rumsden Aurora (Balythayock Longbow ex a Doonally New heifer), Rumsden Athollbrose (Derryharney Outstanding) and Rumsden Achalone (Doonally New ex a Doonally Prince daughter). Good luck to all the recent purchasers of cattle from Rumsden.
