Heathfield Show

A lovely sunny day at Heathfield show, and our cattle sparkled in the sun. Bianca successfully defended her 2008 Interbreed title to win Interbreed Champion for the second year running. She came through as Female Charolais Champion, but was beatern by her brother, Rumsden Cruiserweight, who took Charolais Champion under judge Geoff Brain. However, Interbreed judge Mike Yeandle preferred Biancs, and plaqced her Female Interbreed Champion over the limousin Male Champion. Also doing well were Rumsden Didi who won her class and was Reserve Female Champion and Graywood Drax who was 1st and Reserve Male Champion.

Surrey County Show

We took mainly different cattle to Surrey than Heathfield. We were delighted when 10 month old bull Docklands stood Reserve Breed Champion to outstanding cow Mortimers Urovision. We also won 1st to 3rd in the yearling bull class. We did not take Cruiserweight, he was rested after Heathfield, so the winner of the Senior bull class was Jan Boomars Blelack Crusader. In a strong yearling heifer class Mortimers Destiny won, with our Rumsden Donegal in second. We won 1st in the group of three with our 3 yearling bulls.

South of England Show

We rested Akita and Dragon with the Highland Show in mind. Bianca was 1st in her class and Reserve Female Champion. Delta was second, and was Donegal, and Didi was third. Cruiserweight was 1st and Reserve Male Champion. The star of the team was 11 month old Rumsden Docklands, 1st, Male Champion and Reserve Breed Champion, Interbreed Junior Champion and Superbull Champion.

Royal Highland Show

1st prize for Cruiserweight, 2nd for Bianca, 3rd for Akita, 5th for Didi and 6th for Dragon. Our first visit to the show, tickets for all, Bianca was selected for the Interbreed pairs competition and finished 5th with Murray Lyle's Lammerpark Champion. And lots of farmer interest in the stock, so well worth while.

Royal Show

Our best ever, and the last one! Rumsden Donegal was 1st, Junior Female champion, Junior Champion, Reserve Female Champion and Reserve breed Champion, also Reserve Champion exhibitor bred. Bianca was also 1st prize, cruiserweight was 2nd, Delta 4th and Didi 8th.

Kent County Show

Breed Champion Rumsden Akita, Reserve Breed Champion Rumsden Bianca, 1st Rumsden Docklands; 1st Rumsden Donegal, 1st Rumsden Cruiserweight.

In 2008 Akita was 1st Heathfield, 1st Surrey and Breed Champion,1st South of England, 1st Kent County, and 1st in the Interbreed cow and calf class, and 2nd in the Interbreed pairs with Bianca
